A Tour of Scandanavia
We spent five days in Stockhom in the Old Town area. Toured the Nobel Prize museum, the Vassa Museum and the Royal Palace. Then we got to Linköping to meet up with our daughter and visit with her host family. She wanted to spend Midsommar with them while went to Finland.

This was one of my favorite cities. Such amazing salmon and just such nice people. the contrast in architecture between pre- and post- Soviet occupation was striking. We were there when Nato was responding to the march on Moscow. I've never seen so many military from different countries in one place.

By far and away, Tallinn has to be one of the most beautiful cities that I have ever been to. Just breathtaking. The 13th century buildings and old town area is vast and just so well preserved. It felt surreal to be there on a gorgeous sunny day and know it was real and just that beautiful.

Our time in Norway felt so rushed. Oslo was a nice big city, but the splendor of natural beauty exists when you go north. We took an 8-hour train ride from Oslo to Bergen. Stayed in Bergen for a couple of days and then took a 5-hour ferry up to Aaland. It was mind-blowing in it's natural splendor.

We only visited Copenhagen for the final few days of our trip. I was able to meet up with a friend from Bend there. Her husband worked for Facebook in Prineville and was offered the chance to move overseas and they took it. We had a lovely time catching up.
